In the week of the 21st June Branch worked alongside Regional colleagues to host two engagement events for staff.
The Covid-secure outdoor events at hospital sites in Swandean, Worthing and Mill View, Hove were great successes with NHS pay being the hot topic of debate. Other discussions also included health and safety issues and the pandemic. Branch also recruited new members and workplace contacts.

Branch secretary Nick McMaster, who supported the Mill View event said:
“This was a great opportunity to speak to members in particular about UNISON’s position on NHS pay. There is a lot of noise around this at the moment, quite rightly, with various campaigns taking different stances. One thing is certain, is that the government response so far has been insulting to our dedicated and hard working NHS members, and the public strongly support us having a proper, decent pay rise.”
